02

Miles tracked automatically

Every trip is logged in real time. VoltMile reads your odometer every 15 minutes and records the distance, vehicle, time, and location — building your complete mileage history.

03

Pay automatically or on demand

Choose Pay As You Go or top up a wallet. With Auto-Pay enabled, your road pricing charge is deducted instantly after each trip. No bills, no surprises.

Everything your EV road pricing needs

Built from the ground up for the UK's upcoming pay-per-mile scheme — with real integrations, not workarounds.

Live API Sync

Direct integration with Tesla Fleet API, BMW ConnectedDrive, and VW WeConnect ID. Your odometer syncs every 15 minutes — no input needed.

HMRC MTD Ready

Full integration with HMRC Making Tax Digital. All your mileage is stored in the correct format and will be auto-submitted when the scheme goes live.

Common questions

The proposed UK road pricing rate for electric vehicles is 5.3 pence per mile. VoltMile uses this rate to calculate and display your estimated charges in real time. The rate may change when the scheme is legislated — VoltMile will update automatically.
As of early 2026, the UK government has announced pay-per-mile road pricing for EVs but has not yet passed legislation or published the production HMRC API. VoltMile stores all your mileage locally in the correct HMRC MTD format and will submit automatically the moment the API goes live.
VoltMile currently has direct API integration with Tesla (Fleet API), BMW (ConnectedDrive), and Volkswagen (WeConnect ID). Any other electric vehicle — Polestar, Audi, Nissan Leaf, Rivian, etc. — can be added manually with your registration plate for DVLA lookup.
You can choose between two modes: Top-Up Wallet (add credit which is deducted after each trip) or Pay As You Go (your saved card is charged directly). All payments are processed securely by Stripe. VoltMile charges zero commission — you only pay what the government levies.
Yes. OAuth tokens are stored in Android Keystore (hardware-backed secure enclave). Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — VoltMile never stores your card number. Your mileage data is stored on Supabase with row-level security — only you can access your records.
VoltMile is currently available on Android only. An iOS version is in development and will be announced when ready. Sign up for our mailing list to be first to know.
When you add a vehicle manually and enter your UK number plate (VRM), VoltMile queries the official DVLA API to confirm the vehicle's make, model, fuel type, year, MOT status, and tax status. This ensures accurate records for HMRC submissions.
VoltMile is completely free to download and use. We take no commission on road pricing payments — you pay exactly what the government charges, nothing more. We plan to offer premium features in the future, but core tracking and payment will always remain free.
